I crack up when I see people have dogs that ignore them. My girl was great until she was very old - then her selective hearing kicked in, it was sort of funny!

That's a beautiful dog in the picture! Is that your dog? That is one of my favorites breeds after goldens.

My golden is pretty good at following the 'come' command. His problem is with the 'give' command. He fetches things, but then he sorts of goes around you with the prize in his mouth, as if taunting you.

I'll carry a mousie in my pocket for those pressure recalls! Tee hee. Actually, I have been known to fake discovery of a mousie hole to get Pepper to come screaming over to me in an emergency. She loves digging anyway, real or fake. But I don't want to lose credibility so I just have done that when it's quite serious.

When Pep was a pup I did have a really hard time with her wanting to eat anything and everything gross on our long wildland walks. My vet told me, "Bonnie, you are going to have to me more interesting than possum poop!" That's when I discovered the joy of keeping really tasty treats in my pockets.

I love the "Natural balance" semisoft sausage-type sticks. I carve them up into chunks and they don't disintegrate in my pocket. That was a big breakthrough for me with my little hardheaded muttlet. I finally got to be more interesting than poop!!

There is nothing more frustrating when they wont come. Brutus's recall is about 90% and that lousy 10% dives me bonkers

He wants me to chase him at the most inopportune times I swear!
