it is so great that animals can go into schools and nursing homes, etc. The power of “pet love” is great!

We know a lady who takes her llamas (yep! llamas!) into nursing homes all around our area. She loads them up into her van and takes them all over with her! It’s an odd site! People just love it though!

It’s so beneficial to older people who are ill. Caring for dogs, loving them and stroking them has a healing power. It’s a pity more and more places refuse these visits for whatever reason.

We do therapy work and it is very rewarding for all involved. i think alot of places do not allow it because of liability reasons and allergies. Everyone seems to be allergic to everything these days, or so they say.

Great post! It is so true that dogs are so beneficial to the elderly and children (and everyone). I used to read to my greyhound mix as a child, come to think of it. I was the oldest and very much older than my siblings at the time. He was a great companion.

Great article, thanks! It never ceases to amaze me at the how a visit from a dog can do so much good. And the idea of letting kids read to dogs is genius!
