Ty Brown over at Dog Behavior Online now hosts his own radio show on Voice America. The first show of “Ty the Dog Guy” airs online today at 5 p.m. CST. It will be about housebreaking a dog fast. He will share tips to help housebreak a dog at any age.
The training style Ty uses is successful because he establishes himself as a leader with the dogs he works with. I expect his show to offer useful information for the average dog owner and new ideas for people who are more experienced with dogs. “Ty the Dog Guy” will feature guest appearances and give away plenty of dog stuff. People can also call in with specific dog-related questions.
Ty is a dog trainer, author and dog behavior expert. He trains protection dogs for Protege K9 and operates a dog training business in Utah called CommuniCanine. His rottweiler, Rocco, is pictured above.
If you get a chance to listen to “Ty the Dog Guy,” let me know what you think.

Sounds awesome, I’ll try to catch that!
Thanks for letting people know about my show! Have fun listening.
The show sounds cool! What a handsome dog. I just love Rotties. Rocco reminds me of a great Rott I knew named Kreutz. He was a great dog and healthy as heck. German-bred. I think Americans have kinda ruined Rotts. Many US-bred dogs are too big and not very handy any more. Wish I could find (and afford!) a really good one. Anyway, thanks for showing that bog ol’ Rottie smile! Wish I could see the wiggle-butt move when he’s really happy!!
Good luck Ty!
Bonnie, I love rottweilers too. I’d like to have one some day. Many if not all of the protection dogs Ty trains through Protege K9 are European-bred. I assume it’s because of the reasons you mentioned.
Sounds interesting! Do you know if the archives will be kept online for everyone to read?
You should be able to download the archives any time and listen.
Great! I’ll take a look!
Hmmm I’ll have to check it out. If it’s more like Cesar Milan, then I probably won’t like it. Strong leadership is a good thing, but can be done wrongly with the wrong people and dogs.
Very good point. I like Ty’s approach and Cesar’s (and I know you don’t.) But I agree that many people misunderstand the leadership concept and unintentionally or intentionally abuse, confuse, frighten or make problems worse for their dogs.
oh thats really neat! I’ll will def check it out!
Its fun to read about Utahns for dogs on here too!
