To prepare myself for the half marathon in May, I’ve decided to run for certain times every few days. Today all I wanted to do was 3 miles in 30 minutes. Not so bad, right?
Well, with the mutt stopping to pee, me being slightly hungover and running the whole thing on ice, we finished our 3 miles in 29:50. From there we walked home for a total of 3.08 miles.
How far have you walked your dog this month?
April miles: 5.99

Ha! I love that story. All the best ambitions can be quashed by a hangover, temperature, and a dog’s bladder. 3 miles takes me nearly an hour with Gus – not only stop to urinate, but sniff, howl at other dogs, decide to stand in the middle of the street and space out…
Congrats on deciding to do the marathon! I need to get my act together for one!
My dog squats and pees for like a minute. He doesn’t want to mark every tree like a lot of dogs. But out of nowhere, he just squats and goes!
You should do a half marathon! They are a lot of fun.
When I was training for a marathon last year my Jack Russell would love running with me. When it wasn’t to hot or when I ran during the night I would take him. I would run about 8 miles and it wouldn’t phase him a bit.
That’s awesome! I hate it when people think little dogs can’t run very far. I run with a Jack Russell who goes further and faster than the big dogs I run.
Oh my gosh – you mean Ace is a squatter too? Gus is far too lazy to lift a leg. If he does actually want to mark a tree or something, you should see how funny he looks leaning it up against it! Ha!
Haha! Oh, Gus…
Ok girl, nuff of these old measurements for us deslexic ones down under… how many kilometres is a mile so I know what Im aiming for…
I believe one mile equals 1.6K
