Zobo dog leashes

Ace and I recently tested a free sample of a nylon leash and collar made by Zobo Pet Products. Zobo’s nylon leashes are designed for style, comfort and durability. I was excited to try out a cute leash that might actually be practical.

My favorite leash for all purposes is the classic, 6-foot leather dog leash. Leather is durable, easy on my hands and easy to grip.

The only downside about leather leashes is that a black or brown leather leash is not very stylish.

Nylon leashes from Zobo are a lot more fun and colorful than a leather leash. If you prefer a nylon leash, Zobo may be the way to go.

There are some advantages to a Zobo nylon leash:

Zobo’s collars and leashes are capable of withstanding frequent movements and strain, according to the company. The leashes are 5 feet long, a good length for maintaining control of a dog while out on a run. They also use the strongest side-release buckles made, tested at 280 pounds.

Not only that, but the leashes will not weaken from elements such as UV rays or mildew, according to Zobo. Its strength matches that of other nylon leashes, however many leashes that people think are made of nylon are actually made of a weaker material called polypropylene. Nylon is longer lasting and stronger.

Zobo Pet Products claims that the colors on its collars will not easily fade, citing that customers have been using the collars in the sun and saltwater every day for more than two years.

A variety of colors and styles are available from Zobo, so swing over and check them out online at zobopets.com.

If you are interested in winning the blue Zobo leash and collar shown in the photos, leave a comment and I will choose a winner at random Saturday Jan. 16. The collar is a size medium (15″ to 20″), and a little small for my 65-pound dog.

I have a really cool leash for Gus that is actually a modified surfboard leash. A local company makes them. They’re extremely sturdy!

It’s a great looking collar and leash and the fact that it won’t fade is brilliant, there’s no point in having a long lasting leash and collar if it’s look doesn’t last…love it.

Cute leash and collar. I’ve been sticking with a blue theme too because I thought it might help to clarify that my dog is a boy, not a girl. It doesn’t seem to help, though, because everyone always says, “Oh, she’s so cute!” :)

    Emily,

Too funny. My dog has a blue collar, and everyone thinks she’s a boy all the time just from that. “Oh! He’s so cute. What’s his name?” “Lady.” Ha.

In fact, someone at the dog park flat out asked, “If your dog is a girl, why does she have a blue collar?” I was tempted to answer, “Because if she was a boy, then naming her Lady would have been really stupid!” But I resisted. Heh. Instead, I just gave a dumb practical answer, “Because the collar was supposed to be reflective” (it was – and, no, it isn’t sufficiently reflective for a black dog).

Apparently, though, my husband hears it even more than I do. As in – everyone expects his dog with a blue collar to be a boy dog and then chastises him for having a girl dog wearing blue. Sheesh!

I have no idea why people automatically assume that a dog’s gender will match its owner’s. They just do, for some reason.

I’ve tried several collars for Brick, and the most durable and best-fitting ones are never cute. And so I’m stuck with a practical, yet boring black collar. Maybe worth checking Zobo out?

I like the looks of the Zobo collar and leash. I had never heard of them before.
Blue is our color! I like the fact that the colors aren’t supposed to fade, our blue collar now is really faded, and used to match the leash, but the leash is much darker now.:(
Thanks for the article, I am always on the lookout for new products!

Cute collar and leash set. Almost had the look of some of the woven ones that I’ve looked at lately. Cool that it’s nylon and supposed to not fade.

Anyway, I’m enjoying the comments on this post as much as the post itself. Shelties must fall into that category of dogs that people just assume the sex. Twist always gets called a girl, no matter what color his collar. I don’t know if it’s because the sable and whites remind people of Lassie, (who was also a boy), and so they assume that all sable and white shelties and collies are girls? On the flip side, apparently being blue, means that you’re a boy, even when it’s the color of your coat, like Dare. Probably didn’t help that her name is no hint, but everyone seems to think that Dare is a boy. Hehe.

We named our pup Mackey (she’s a girl) and she typically wears a blue or white collar. Most people never remember how to pronounce her name and always refer to her as a boy. I guess that’s our fault! :)

I like the idea of it withstanding frequent movements and strain. Our 40# (I know, weak right!?) lab is is a puller and I find the collar we have always loosens up. I tighten it daily… I will check out their website, very interested. Thank you!

I would like to recomend apline outfitters for collars. I get the adult limited slip with reflective tape and it is great! If you email them, they can sometimes modify the colors and etc.
They are well priced as well!
This is where I get everything for my siberian husky, from collars to backpacks.
