Do the work you love

Live a meaningful life

A friend pointed out that my husband Josh and I are not normal.

He meant that as a compliment – that we do the work we love, we work when we want to and we are not in the job market (thankfully).

It was nice to hear this friend’s¬†perspective.

And so, this Thanksgiving, that is one thing I am thankful for – meaningful work.

And that is my wish for every person.

Not to own a business, but to do the work he or she loves.

To live a meaningful life.

Do the work you love.

Do it well.

    Hi Lindsay,

Thanks for the time and energy you have put in to help others start a dog running business. I live in Maui and will soon be up and ready. Your e-book and business forms have been great. I got my business license this week, and am almost finished with my website. I wanted to ask.. could you recommend an insurance company who will insure dog walkers / runners? Are all breeds covered?

    Thanks again!
    Dustin

Hi Dustin. Just returned from Maui, actually! Gotta love us tourists! You probably can’t go wrong with any of the pet sitting insurance companies. I happen to use Pet Sitters Associates. They cover all breeds.

Best of luck to you with your business, and thank you for purchasing my ebook!

Wonderful advice. Not everyone gets to do the work they love for a living, so you are indeed fortunate. Hopefully everyone can do what they love at least some of the time.

Thanks for the insurance recommendation Lindsay. I have recently gotten Pooch Fit going and have two clients. If you’re interested in seeing my site it’s at http://www.poochfit.com.

If you’d like, I would be very happy to send you a testimonial for your ebook. It really has good info.

One of the best tips was in regards to volunteering with a local dog rescue. This helps on many levels. The time and energy I’ve given has been for a great cause, and the dogs love the runs. On the flip side, it really is a mutually beneficial relationship. I’ve posted pics of a few rescue dogs on my site, and I’m able to tell potential clients that I average running with 15 dogs on any given week, which increases my experience and credibility. Using the rescue director as a reference is also really good.

Thanks again, have a great New Year!
      Dustin
