A dog poem – for the pitbulls

by Lindsay Stordahl on January 3, 2013 · 9 comments

A dog poem

I run. I jump. I dig. I fetch.

I sniff. I wag. I swim. I stretch.

I roll. I yawn. I pull. I cuddle.

I lick. I kiss. I nap. I snuggle.

I protect. I chase. I bark. I growl.

I cry. I hurt. I whine. I howl.

I drool. I shake. I tug. I sneeze.

I chew. I beg. I pant. I breathe.

I live.

I sing.

I play.

I love.

I am your dog, your pitbull dog.

Awesome poem! I know a beautiful pittie girl (Tess) that loves to run at an animal sanctuary in Wisconsin… http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/11897657

I love it! I miss my pitt so much. Due to people not being informed, when I was extremely ill and placed in the hospital, my family refused to take care of my blacknose pitbull and found him a new home. It was very sad. I miss my bubba dog- he was one of the best dogs I have ever owned. What is ironic, is a few years after my family had gotten rid of my dog while I was unconcious in the hospital, my brother got a pit bull named Ole. My brother didn’t live two states away, so my parents really got to know Ole and the breed and fell in love with them. It is a shame that they couldn’t have fallen in love with the pit bull before I almost died, but I guess that is just how things work. I now have a one year old white boxer who is way more of a challenge ot train than my pit bull was due to his own “independant thinking.” I love my Kyzer dog, though, and where he lacks in the “obedience department” he totally makes up for in love and the ability to make me laugh. Someday, when I got Kyzer under control again, I will get another pit bull. I miss the unwavering loyalty and desire to please that my pit had.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Your Kyzer sounds like a great (although challenging!) dog, too. Best of luck to you when you add your next dog. I’m happy to hear you want another pitbull.
