Every decade or so criminals get their hands on a particular breed for fame, money or status (all the wrong reasons to own a dog) and tarnish the image of the breed.
Dog whisperer Cesar Millan writes on his website, “in the ’70s they blamed Dobermans, in the ’8 ...

A puppy born with a cleft palate already has a strike against him. Sometimes breeders kill pups with birth defects. Right or wrong, I personally know breeders who do it. They know few people will want to buy a pup with defects.
But strike two for this particular pitbull named Steve was when his family lost their home, according to 4 Luv of Dog Rescue in Fargo. Steve was dropped off at a boarding kennel and remained t ...
An American pit bull terrier in Fargo has a business named after him.
Bubba & Company of Fargo is there for all your pets. That includes the cat – and the bird, the snake and the rabbit.
It makes sense that pets of all kinds are welcome at Bubba & Co. Bubba himself is the type of dog who steals the show no matter where he is. This reddish-colored pitbull loves all people and dogs and is gentle with ever ...

Yesterday was the first bike ride of the season for my mutt and I (finally). We picked right up as though we hadn’t missed a day. I went slowly of course, barely above our running pace so Ace didn’t have to break into a run. When we got to a park I let him off leash and allowed him to sprint after me if he wanted. He took on my challenge and raced across the field remaining at my side no matter how fast I ...
Our little foster dog went to her trial home today. It’s a good thing someone wanted to adopt her right away because we were starting to get attached to Sammi and wanted to keep her! Even the cats were getting used to her.
Ace is walking around with his toys in his mouth happy to be an only dog again. Although he had fun with a puppy around, he will take advantage of this time to catch up on some rest. He was v ...
It is so much fun living with a puppy despite all the trouble. I look at this little foster pup named Sammi and I can’t be mad at her no matter what she does. My 3-year-old lab mix Ace actually seems mature for once, although he is enjoying all the extra toys around the house, playtime and more walks. He has already destroyed two of Sammi’s new toys.
Sammi is a great dog. I can’t believe she ended u ...
Our foster dog is here.
Sammi is about the cutest dog I’ve ever seen. I don’t know exactly what she is mixed with, but I am guessing mostly American pit bull terrier with some smaller terrier like a Jack Russell. She seems to be all terrier to me anyway! Basically she is a tiny pitbull. She is about a third of Ace’s size and very, very skinny. She didn’t want to eat her breakfast this morning ...
There is a male pit bull terrier in one of the Fargo-area pounds scheduled to be euthanized soon if no one saves him today (Tuesday). 02/25/09 edit: The pitbull was saved and has a foster home lined up!
The fact that this dog is a pitbull means his chances of being rescued are slim even though he has done well around other dogs and is a manageable 40 pounds.
With my close connections with dog rescue groups, I become ...
I was emailed this list of 100 ways to help a dog rescue group. Thank you, Lori! It’s a good list full of ways to help rescue dogs. If you are unable or unwilling to foster a dog, there are tons of other ways you can help. So browse through the list and let me know if you have any other ideas.
I came up with a few more ideas to help dog rescue groups:
1. Take a dog for a run.
Dogs living in shelters or boarding ...
