Oh the joys of living near the Red River. So much for this bridge … Thanks a lot, Wahpeton, for sending us all your rain.

My mutt Ace is one of the fittest dogs I know. He has a naturally lean body, and his sleek coat shows off his frame. He also gets plenty of exercise, and I don’t overfeed him. People are so used to seeing overweight dogs that they tell me my dog is underweight. It’s no wonder [...]

My friend Maren and I won the Fargo half marathon. Both of us. Unfortunately, no dogs were allowed on the course. I finished the race in about 2 hours and 6 minutes. Not my personal best, but faster than last year.

At about 8 p.m. April 30, Ace and I completed our 101 miles. We reached exactly 101 miles and then quit. We did not even go .01 miles more! My miles were broken down close to this: Walking: 50 miles Running: 30 miles Biking: 21 miles I have to admit, at about 6 p.m. April [...]

I looked at what I was wearing a few nights ago and realized everything was either from a thrift store or Plato’s Closet (an over-priced thrift store). Everything, except for my running shoes. Today I made a trip to Dick Beardsley Running Company in Fargo where I buy New Balance running shoes every six months [...]

Yesterday was the first bike ride of the season for my mutt and I (finally). We picked right up as though we hadn’t missed a day. I went slowly of course, barely above our running pace so Ace didn’t have to break into a run. When we got to a park I let him off [...]

Let’s just say we had some more scenery on our walks last weekend than we’ve had in about a year. We went on several short walks on various trails and along the shore of Lake Superior. The mutt decided it was worth it to go for a short swim even though the air temperature was [...]
