I have been good at not playing fetch with Ace for the last 30 days, but I have not done much else to break him of his obsession with tennis balls (and other objects). However, taking away the source of the problem is not going to make the problem go away. When Ace sees someone throw a ball, he still reaches that fixated state of mind. The best toy we ever bought Ace was a slingshot ball. There is more than one brand of this toy, but the one we have and the one pictured is the Go-Frrr ball (this is not an affiliate link). It’s great because when you have a dog that wants to play fetch forever, the ball goes a lot further with the slingshot power than it does when an average person throws it.
