Mindy the pitbull mix with Labs & More Rescue

Update: Mindy has been adopted!

1800PetMeds has teamed up with ThatMutt.com to support Labs & More Rescue in San Diego.

ThatMutt.com chooses a new rescue dog to help each month, and for March that dog is Mindy Girl, a Lab/pitbull mix for adoption through Labs & More.

That Mutt is raising money to sponsor Mindy’s adoption fee, and 1800PetMeds is helping out by giving $300 worth of pet products to the rescue.

1800PetMeds regularly gives supplies to shelters and rescue groups through its donation program, according to Vanessa Penagos, content and inbound marketing director with the company. It is able to do so by giving away its return items.

The products are typically in perfect condition, according to Penagos. They are only returned due to the wrong size or color or because of small imperfections with the packaging.

If you know of a shelter or rescue group that could benefit from the donation program through 1800PetMeds, it accepts suggestions on its web site here.

How you can help Mindy get adopted

Thank you to everyone who has helped spread the word about Mindy Girl and Labs & More Rescue!

Also, read updates on our past sponsored dogs Otis and Gemini. I absolutely love bringing people together to help dogs in need.

I love knowing that 1800PetMeds does this. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling on this Friday afternoon. I also love that you're supporting the adoption of these dogs. I swear, pretty much every dog you've featured I wanted to say I'll take her/him! I'm getting closer and closer to being ready to add a second dog to our family (after not even a year with 1!), so when you post about these dogs I imagine how they'd fit with our family. BTW: suggestion for future posts: considerations for making the jump from 1 dog to 2 and how to find the right dog when you're going from 1 to 2.

Oh wow, I'm so excited that you are thinking of adding a second dog! I can't wait for this to progress.

Yes, those are great post ideas!

That's fantastic! I am going to suggest they sponsor OC Small Paws, a great cat rescue I volunteer with.
