Puritan’s Pride is an online provider of vitamins and supplements for people, and it also carries a variety of supplements for dogs and cats.

The company’s mission is to “make the highest-quality nutritional supplements available at the best value,” according to its web site.

It sent me four products to give my mutt Ace and my cats Beamer and Scout. I really love when a company is cat friendly!

More about the pet supplements from Puritan’s Pride

Puritan's Pride pets review

I do my best to provide my pets with the healthiest food I can afford, so I view extra vitamins and supplements as an added bonus that certainly can’t hurt.

As you know, pets can encounter many of the same issues we face in the aging process, and my three pets are now considered seniors. Some of the pet products from Puritan’s Pride are made to address issues such as joint, bone or immune concerns, according to the company.

I’ll provide you with some info on the products we received. Plus, you have a chance to win a package including the same four items. Read more about that below!

Puritan’s Pride Super Pet Vites

pet vitamins from Puritan's Pride(regular retail price: $12.29 for 100 tablets)

This is a multi-vitamin containing 1/2 gram of liver per tablet. The tablets are chewable and easy to break up. One of my cats is a very picky eater, but he’ll eat the vitamin if I crumble it up over his food.

Puritan’s Pride Dried Brewer’s Yeast for Dogs & Cats

(regular retail price: $4.99 for 100 tablets)

The dried brewer’s yeast formula for dogs and cats is made with garlic flavoring and provides a source of essential B vitamins, according to Puritan’s Pride. It contains thiamine (B1), which is used by the body to break down sugars in the diet. Riboflavin (B2) is important for body growth, red blood cell production and helps in releasing energy from carbohydrates. Niacin (B3) helps maintain support for the skin.

These are also chewable and breakable.

Puritan’s Pride Glucosamine Plus

Glucosamine pets(regular retail price: $26.79 for 90 capsules)

These glucosamine tablets are also for dogs and cats, but I am only giving them to my dog. They are not chewable, so you may need to hide them in something tasty!

The tablets contain 1,000 mg of glucosamine sulfate, 500 mg of shark cartilage and 1,000 mg of sea cucumber. These are popular ingredients found in many people products, according to Puritan’s Pride.

Puritan’s Pride Coat & Skin for Pets

(regular retail price: $11.29 for 12 ounces)

Puritan’s Pride Coat & Skin for Pets is meant to nourish dry skin and support a glowing coat, according to the company. It provides vitamins A, D and E, plus pure, unsaturated oils.

I don’t like how this product contains soybean oil and corn oil because I believe there are healthier options such as cod liver oil, which this product also contains.

I don’t judge pet owners who choose to feed their pets corn products (corn is affordable). I just look at this product as more of an occasional treat than a regular, healthy supplement. I put it over some dry food for my pets, and they all thought it was wonderful!

My dogs are all seniors and I am always looking for new ways to keep them healthy.

Both of the pups are on glucosomine, as is the pony. I've been batting around the idea of adding a multi-vitamin to their diet as well. D.O.G. used to get fish oil but with a slight change in food this winter he didn't itch as bad. I would love to try these supplements. Right now the cheapest we can get is at Costco and its $40 for a bottle of 250 pills. I don't care for the none chewy type of glucosomine but if the shipping is good to Alaska I would love to try it. Thanks for giving us this wonderful opportunity to try a good product!

Yes, our girls get fish oil, glucosamine, and bee pollen (for allergies). We know our younger girl will have arthritis in her hips when she's older (x-rays were done when she was 18 months old to confirm whether she could/should be bred - the answer was "no", and she came to live with us).

So glad you adopted her!

My husband and I joke that we take better care of our pets than we do of ourselves haha...Both our pups are on a multi-vitamin/probiotic and fish oil, and our male pup is also on glucosamine for his worsening arthritis. We're almost out of everything and would love to try new stuff! Plus we've not found a glucosamine supplement we're 100% satisfied with so it would be nice to see how effective this one is. :)

We do give supplements - glucosomine for sure and fish oil, but haven't moved onto anything else yet.

That's what I typically give Ace as well.
