ProTrainings Pet First Aid Course Review

The pet first aid and CPR course includes about an hour and 40 minutes of videos (ranging from about 30 seconds to 5 minutes each). It took me about 2 hours total to complete the course and test.

You can also pause at any time and resume where you left off. For example, I took the course and test over two days in two 60-minute sessions.

You can also go back and review the videos at any time for up to TWO YEARS!

People who should consider taking a pet first aid course include:

  • All dog and cat owners!
  • Pet sitters, dog walkers & dog trainers
  • Dog daycare/boarding facility workers
  • Animal shelter volunteers/fosters

I took the course so I’m better prepared to help my own pets in an emergency before I’m able to get them to a veterinarian.

Pro Pet Hero

This is a valuable online pet first aid course designed to prepare dog and cat owners on what to do to help their pets in an emergency.

The videos are taught by Dr. Bobbi Conner, a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I thought she did an excellent job covering the material and showing demonstrations. Her dog and cat models and human assistants also did such a great job!

The course covers information such as wound care, how to give CPR to a dog, how to read your pet’s vitals and dozens of other topics. I now have a certification in pet first aid and a lot more knowledge than before!

Cons of the course:

  • You can pass this test without ever practicing some of the skills (such as CPR) on a dog or cat dummy. However, you will still walk away with a lot more knowledge than before and you can review the videos as many times as you need to.
  • You need the self-discipline to focus on the course and set aside the 2 hours for completion. Good news is you can take breaks and spread it out as you’d like.Pet First Aid Course online

Would I buy this course?

Yes, I would pay full price for this online pet first aid course because the information could help save the life of one of my pets or someone else’s pet someday. It’s a no-brainer for pet sitters and dog walkers.

At just $49.95, it’s something most people can squeeze into their budget without an issue, and you have access to the information and certification for two years. I plan to go back and re-watch some of the videos.
