Today was the first day of my 30-day experiment to walk Ace for a minimum of 20 minutes per day.

The walk went way better than normal because I brought treats along. All he had to do to get a treat from me today was look at me when I said his name. This kept him very focused. And all I used for treats were pieces of dry catfood.

We practiced random sits and different walking paces. Ace wore his pinch collar and regular collar so I could switch on and off between the two by clipping his leash to the necessary collar.

He heeled just fine for the second half of our walk without the pinch collar.

Ace still got excited and tried to pull ahead when a runner approached us, so next time I am going to ask him to sit when we see a person and see how he does while sitting with a loose leash.

Ace did not wear his backpack for our walk today because I was working on training and less worried about tiring him out. Even so, he fell asleep minutes after we came home.
