Help prevent canine cancer, join the golden retriever lifetime study

Note: This is a guest post by Katie F. on behalf of Morris Animal Foundation.

Morris Animal Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing animal health, has launched the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study to find out how to better prevent and treat canine cancer.

This study will also look into other important diseases that affect dogs. Cancer is the number one cause of death for dogs over 2 years of age, so we hope this study can help to change that. Let’s help dogs everywhere to lead happy and healthy lives!

How can you support this effort?

The Golden Retriever Lifetime Study will study golden retrievers, and we would love to have more participants. If you have a golden, or know someone who has a golden, please consider signing your dog up for this study or letting your friends know about the study.

Qualifications:

• Golden retriever owners must be over 18 years old and reside in the contiguous United States in order to participate.
• Golden retrievers must be healthy and less than 2 years old.
• Golden retrievers also must have a three-generation pedigree.

This study will consist mainly of questionnaires and annual check-ups at the vet. For more information about signing up, go to the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study.
