Dear Dog Boarding Facility …

Dear Dog Boarding Facility,

Please love my old dog.

I know he’s just a number, just another big, black dog in a sea of dogs.

His name is Ace and he would like it if you sat quietly with him just for a minute in his cage. To scratch his head, to tell him he’s a good boy.

Please pay attention to him when you’re doing your rounds, when taking him out, bringing food, passing by.

I know it’s hard when there are so many others. Most are younger and more playful.

Just see that he’s OK.

Just love my old dog, please.

I worked in a boarding facility and made a point to give each and every dog lots of attention and love, no matter how busy I was. And I have a soft spot for the seniors <3 I loved working there. I found out, however, that the owner of the facility was using shock collars without owner consent...and I quit. Now I have started pet sitting on my own, since they are the only boarding facility in a 30-mile radius and I want to give pet owners another option.

Awww, all boarding dogs (& cats, of course) should receive the same amount of attention, regardless of age and breed! The boarding place we used before in Dulles VA, had webcams that were accessible 24/7, so we could always check in with the pups

I've never boarded Haley and have been lucky so far that my parents could watch her the one time we had to leave her behind on a vacation. I would definitely pick a place that doesn't mind if you call often to check on them or maybe they even email you daily updates on how they're doing. Sometimes I think it's probably harder on us than it is for them if they're at a good boarding facility.

We have an excellent dog boarding facility that we use. My heart is always warmed when they tell me that they just let our old guy Kepler hang out on the couch with them. It's nice to know that he is getting good, relaxing people time while the younger dogs go into daycare to play, play, play.

Brings tears into my eyes. I would never board my dog in a place where I couldn't count on them loving them, taking care of them and considering them an individual, rather than a number.

Me too! I'm glad I'm not the only one that welled up =)
