this is SUCH a GREAT post!

“How often have you been walking with your dog somewhere and you feel entirely in tune with that animal?”

My Answer: Not often enough, but I have experienced it several times before and have had a hard time explaining to someone what that feels like, if they haven’t felt it themselves. It’s a little like I imagine the competitive ballroom dancers are, and probably how agility teams feel when everything is going well. It is such a great feeling – it happens when we are practicing our loose lead walking, not so much when he’s off lead romping in the country. I’m happy, and Biggie is super-happy. He comes from a long line of show dogs that have also competed in obedience and rally, so he defintiely has that ability to focus and he needs that mental exercise too. It also makes me feel a little bad, though, because I don’t have as much time to spend with him developing those skills as I’d like.

Miles walked in March: 8-9 :(

Just broke the 25 mile mark today. I don’t see us getting 100 miles this month, but 60 is a real possibility.

Well, we are off to a slow start…I’m guessing we are only at about 25 miles. I’ve been working waaaaay too much lately! We are going to do a good 8-10 tomorrow though so we should be close to back on track!

I’m sure you will do it, no problem.

Hey, does it count if they run around like loons for 2 hours on the land? They probably covered half of the months Challenge while I was tending to the Veg plot!:)
