Life of the city cat

Beamer and Scout

When we moved from North Dakota to Southern California, a few friends were concerned about my two cats.

Make sure they eat enough, one friend said. Don’t let them get too stressed.

I’m aware of the dangers of a cat not eating. They can die very quickly, but I was not worried about my cats. (If you only knew the things Beamer has eaten.)

I will say that Beamer and Scout did not seem to experience any stress during our move. Sure, three 12-hour days of driving was hard on all of us. But the cats ate as normal. They road in their crates. They explored hotel rooms. No one got sick or put up a fuss.

Once at the new place, they took to lounging on the bed. They demanded food at the usual times.

Nothing has changed.

The life of a city cat.
