Best dog

by Lindsay Stordahl on February 14, 2013 · 4 comments

Almost every morning, Ace and I head out for a short walk. We later eat breakfast together. Then he follows me to my office where I write for a bit and he settles in on a dog bed or blanket – first nap of the day!

When I head out to walk the other dogs – my dog “clients” – Ace tags along, waits patiently in the car or lounges around until I return.

I’m so lucky to have this dog.

You are lucky!

When I wake up my 1 year old border collie, Sparkles, and I burst out the door for a short walk, then she terrorizes the cats while I get everyone’s breakfast. When I go to my desk to start working she either pulls all of the cushions off the couch or continues terrorizing the cats. She doesn’t go on walks with me as much anymore because she’s a little too rowdy for most of my older clients, but when I’m all done with work she has finally worn herself out enough to lay on the couch and cuddle while we watch a TV show together. Yes, our mornings are rough, but the afternoon snuggling after the hustle of the day’s work is all worth it. Still, I can’t wait until she’s more like yours!

Enjoy that stage where she is young and full of energy! But yes, it is nice when they “mature” a bit!

Ace does sound like an amazing dog. It’s the best when your dog can just go with the flow of your lifestyle. I must admit that I do not walk my dogs in the morning but it’s been that way since they were puppies so they totally get the routine. The sunbathe, then eat, then nap, then wrestle, then nap again and then we go for a big outing in the afternoon. And since I work from home they are not alone. It works for us:)
