Dog Needs Surgery to Remove a Foxtail – Ace is Doing Well

I posted a Facebook update last week saying my dog Ace could use some positive thoughts.

He was having minor surgery that day to remove what might be a foxtail, I said.

I want to thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers for my dog and for me. I realized I should probably post that Ace is doing OK. He is!

I don’t care to go into the details of the procedure. It’s been a stressful week and I’ve been worried about my dog.

Thankfully, we have a good vet and Ace has had good care. We suspect the issue was indeed a foxtail or something similar. The procedure wasn’t quite as simple as I’d hoped, but Ace should be just fine.

He is in recovery mode now and is actually getting pretty frustrated that he has to remain still and quiet for another week. This is hard even for a lazy, senior hound dog like my mutt. I don’t know how people keep normal dogs quiet, let alone active dogs!

Last week I took Ace to the park to spend time with him before his surgery and to take pictures.

This Christmas season I am thankful I still have my dog. We still have lots of adventures planned.

Thank you again for your positive thoughts!
