Apryl chose the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Los Angeles and volunteered to match my $20 donation.
“Readers from all over can feel good about donating to this particular shelter that services the Los Angeles area since we have such a large population of animals that are ‘feral,’ ‘strays’ or even abandoned,” Apryl said.
If you would like to give to the spcaLA, you may donate online. You may also mail a check to:
5026 W Jefferson Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90016
The spcaLA is dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals through education, law enforcement and intervention, according to its web site. The group is a nonprofit and donations run its programs and services such as cruelty investigation, shelters, disaster response and education.
The spcaLA and other organizations like it depend on our donations. I encourage you to make a $20 donation to either the spcaLA or your local animal rescue or shelter.
My orange cat Beamer came from our local humane society.
