Remy with Wellness CORE freeze dried raw treats

Wellness CORE Freeze-Dried Raw Treats Review & Giveaway!

My dog Remy loves the freeze-dried raw treats from Wellness so much that he forgets the most basic commands. He gets so excited that his little brain shuts off!

The Wellness CORE freeze-dried raw treats are healthy, single-ingredient treats made in the USA with real meat: salmon, boar, beef or turkey. They contain no wheat, corn, soy, artificial flavors or preservatives. Just meat.

This post is sponsored by Wellness Pet Food.

Wellness is giving away a prize pack of food and treats to a reader of That Mutt. Leave a comment at the end of this post for a chance to win!

What I think of the freeze-dried raw treats from Wellness

My two dogs love these treats. (So much so that Remy can hardly focus on simple tricks! See the video below.) That’s because the treats are made from real meat – turkey, salmon, beef or boar. They contain no corn, soy, wheat, sugar, salt, preservatives or flavorings. Just meat.

The freeze-drying process gently removes the moisture from the treats without removing the nutrients or flavor, according to Wellness.

They make a great training treat because they are not greasy and can easily be stuffed in your pocket. They are small treats and can also break easily.

What is the cost?

The freeze-dried treats from Wellness CORE are affordable.

The cost through Chewy.com is about $6.99 per 2-ounce bag. ORDER HERE.

Choose from boar, salmon, beef or turkey.

Wellness CORE products are also available through other retailers such as PetSmart.

Pros of the Wellness CORE freeze-dried raw treats:

  • healthy
  • made with high-quality meat
  • made in the USA
  • single-ingredient treats
  • no corn, sugar, wheat, salt, gluten, etc. (just meat!)
  • not greasy
  • 2 calories per treat
  • easy way to introduce raw food to your dog’s diet
  • high in protein

I recommend the Wellness CORE treats if you’re feeding your dog a raw diet or if you would like to upgrade your dog’s food and treats to a healthier option. They’re also a good choice if your dog has allergies because they are one ingredient. These are also a good training treat.

Order the treats from Chewy.com here.

Cons:

  • can break easily in delivery
  • the salmon flavor is smelly (which dogs love!)
  • ideally you should wash your hands after handling since they’re raw

These treats might not be for your dog if you’re looking for larger, biscuit-type treats. These are small treats, good for training or topping their food.

Other Wellness CORE products

Wellness CORE makes several different types of grain-free food and treats for dogs. You can learn more about all of their products on their website here.

The company sent my dogs a bag of their CORE RawRev food. This is a grain-free dry food combined with freeze-dried pieces of raw meat.

I recommend a raw diet for most dogs but if a raw diet is not for you, Wellness CORE RawRev is an excellent choice. It’s not a 100% raw diet, but dogs love the pieces of raw meat mixed with their dry food. Read my full review of RawRev here.

(Wellness CORE also makes canned food and a dry food without raw meat. Learn more on their website here.)

Colby loves the Wellness treats! He’s the same as your boys loses any concentration I may have been getting from him. Sometimes he gets a little blah and doesn’t want to eat, I throw some of this in and the food is gone in no time. Great product!

  4. I would love to try these for my dog Talou. I really like that they are only one ingredient and not full of a bunch of added fillers. Talou loves freeze dried raw

  5. Very interested! I usually make my own treats because I train 2 dogs in agility and other stuff too. I use a lot of treats and am always looking for something new! My papillon has to watch his weight and tiny treats are the best, especially if I don’t need to cut them up.

  6. I use lots of treats and have not tried these, but would like to. I have 3 dogs and use small treats, I sometimes use a treat n train maybe they would work in that too.

  7. We like to give our dogs variety in their diet. Rotating between different healthy, safe treats, keeps them happy and healthy

  15. Fenway loves the Wellness Core No Grain Raw Rev dry food. It would be nice to see how he likes the Wellness Raw Rev treats.
The only (Con) I see with the Raw Rev dry food, is not many Raw Rev bites per 1 cup of food. I pay $63- for the large bag. I believed, for that amount per bag, it would contain LOTS of Raw Rev pieces.

  16. I’m always looking for “new to me” products that help me best take care of my two dogs. I like that these are one ingredient, low cal treats. I’m sure my dog’s would consider these “high value” treats.

  17. I rescued an 8 month old Aussie last Sept. and he came with a lot of ” baggage” that I’m trying to ” unload” * I’m trying to teach him some manners and the treats I have are getting old ….meaning he isn’t interested any more. I’ve tried other treats but he gets board with them. These treats look good and I’ll bet he’ll pay more attention to me if he tried these.

  18. i have tried samples of this product by Wellness and love it, the girls love it as well. would love to try a bigger bag. I use Holistic Select now which is made by Wellness. great company and great cust service. if you sign up for their emails, they send you coupons. also if you call them, they sometimes send you coupons.

  19. My dogs are on Wellness Complete but I’d love to try these and switch them over to Wellness Core. They’d really love the treats too because they are all about the premium meat treats 🙂

  20. My 14-year old Jack Russell Terrier mix LOVES these. He’s lost some teeth, so he can’t eat very hard treats, so these are perfect for him. I also love to give him raw mixers with his dog food. He absolutely loves them!

  21. I would love to win these treats for my dog, Peyton, not only because he is the light of my life, but because he is still a rescue puppy and gets the best of everything. Wellness is a great brand, and raw is the best! Help me make Peyton’s day!!!
